Gurdas Maan

Gurdas Maan is a very popular name in the Indian film industry. He is a multi-talented personality being a well-known singer, choreographer, song writer and actor. Born on 4th January, 1957 in Giddarbaha, Muktsar District of Punjab India, Gurdas Maan has produced more than 34 albums and written over 300 songs. He shot to national fame with his song “Dil Da Mamla Hai”. Gurdas Maan has a great fan following and loves connecting to his fans using his shows and concerts as well as social networking sites as Facebook and Twitter. The actor and singer who has many awards and chartbusters to his credit recently launched his own YouTube channel in 2013. Gurdas Maan is an entertainer in true sense and his magic can be experienced in all his live performances.

    Awards and honours

    Gurdas Maan shot to fame with his hit song “Dil Da Mamla Hai.” Soon after that came “Mamla Gadbad Hai” and “Chhalla.” Gurdas Maan received an honorary degree of Doctor of Music from the University of Wolverhampton on 7 September 2010.[1] Maan performed at the Royal Albert Hall for two nights in April 2011 as part of his UK tour. This was the first time Maan performed at the Royal Albert Hall, an opportunity that very few artists come across. Maan, on stage acknowledged that he could hear the voices of Lata Mangeshkar and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in the Hall as they too had performed there earlier.

    On other fronts, Maan has starred in blockbuster Bollywood films and has received numerous awards, including the Jury’s Award, presented to him by the president of India in 2005.

    In 2009 he won “Best International Album” at the UK Asian Music Awards for Boot Polishan.
