Piyush Mishra (born Priyakant Sharma on 13 January 1963) is an Indian actor, singer, lyricist, playwright, musician, and screenwriter. Born in Sambhal, Mishra graduated from the National School of Drama, Delhi, in 1986. He began his career in Hindi theatre, where he became well-established as a director, actor, lyricist, and singer over the next decade. In 2002, he moved to Mumbai and earned significant recognition for his acting roles in Maqbool (2003) and Gangs of Wasseypur (2012).
Mishra is also known for his contributions as a lyricist and singer in films, with notable tracks like "Arre Ruk Ja Re Bandeh" from Black Friday (2004), "Aarambh Hai Prachand" from Gulaal (2009), "Ik Bagal" from Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 1 (2012), and "Husna" from MTV's Coke Studio (2012).
