Maharaja’s Haveli is a popular Indian restaurant in Sydney delighting customers with its lovely display of Indian culture and delicious Indian food. From biryanis, gol gappas to kheer and gulabjamuns you can enjoy any authentic Indian cuisine at the restaurant.

Maharaja Haveli has been organising a cooking competition for the last two years. The contest known as Maharaja Kitchen Rules, encourages participants to display their cooking skills in front of an enthusiastic and lively audience. The event is showcased live on giant LED Screens all across the restaurant. The last MKR event held on 28tH Sep 2013 was a great hit and spectators loved the fun watching contestants prepare dishes live! The event was judged by Haveli’s head chef Anil Kumar.

With the grand success of the last year’s MKR event, this year’s event is a much talked about affair already. The table is all set and competitors are sweating it out hard to make sure they perform to the best of their abilities on the D Day.

The winner gets two free return tickets to India. The second and third holders will be gifted an expresso coffee machine and Maharaja Haveli’s platinum membership respectively.

The event will be hosted and judged by star chef and Masterchef Australia finalist Rishi Desai. Rishi was amongst finalists in the fifth series of the Masterchef Australia contest. He lends a modern approach to Indian dishes transforming popular and loved food combos into excitingly new and unexpected dishes. Desai shares cuisines from his native land India, tweaks its flavour combinations transforming the perception that Indian food is all about spices and curries.

Desai will grace the Maharaja Kitchen Rules competition and judge the contestants based on their innovativeness of approach while cooking. He will also promote his cook book Modern Indian and personally autograph copies for the buyers.
