Debi Makhsoospuri is a famous Punjabi singer, songwriter and poet.

Debi Makhsoospuri original name Gurdev Singh Gill was born on 10 June 1966 in Makhsoospur, a village in the Hoshiarpur district of Punjab.

Debi got his break at the age of 20 when he started writing for Kuldeep Manak. Since then he has written songs and poetry for artists such as Sardool Sikander, Hans Raj Hans, Manmohan Waris and Kamal Heer.

Debi made his singing debut in 1994 with the album Jad Maa Nayi Rehndi. He has released 13 studio albums and 4 live albums so far.

He won the award for best lyricist at the 2013 Punjabi Music Awards.
