The Alexandra Theatre, commonly known as The Alex, is a historic venue located on Suffolk Queensway in Birmingham, England. Opened on 27 May 1901 as the Lyceum Theatre, it was renamed the Alexandra Theatre in 1902. In 2018, following a £650,000 refurbishment, the theatre was relaunched under its current name and now seats 1,347 patrons. Managed by the Ambassador Theatre Group, The Alex hosts a diverse range of performances, including touring West End productions, comedy shows, and live music events. Notable past productions have included The Book of Mormon, Bat Out of Hell: The Musical, and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. The theatre is renowned for its Art Deco interior, featuring plush royal blue seating and a grand proscenium arch.
