Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall is a premier cultural and performance venue located in the Chetpet area of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Commissioned in 2008 and situated on Harrington Road within the Madras Seva Sadan campus, it was established to support the preservation and propagation of Indian and international art and culture.
Overview
A fully air‑conditioned concert hall with a seating capacity of around 1,192 across multiple levels, designed for comfort and excellent acoustics.
Features a large 2,600 sq ft stage suitable for music, theatre, dance, and other live performances, as well as state‑of‑the‑art audio‑visual and lighting systems.
Includes a 200‑seat black box experimental theatre, outdoor performance area, and multiple training rooms for rehearsals and workshops.
There’s also an art gallery, lounge/café, and on‑site parking facilities.
