The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium, located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, is a renowned sports arena with a seating capacity of 5,000. Originally established in 1957 as an outdoor stadium, it was inaugurated by former Chief Minister Yashwantrao Chavan and is managed by the National Sports Club of India. The facility offers a range of sports amenities, including tennis, badminton, billiards, table tennis, carrom, and wrestling. In 2002, the stadium underwent a major transformation under the direction of Shashi Prabhu & Associates and Sterling Engineers, replacing the old open-air structure with a modern indoor complex. The upgraded venue now features 16 ancillary halls, a 12-acre basement with parking for 1,000 cars, as well as a spacious health club and gymnasium—making it one of Mumbai’s premier multi-sport and fitness destinations.
