Intro to Longform Improv Course (103) - w/ TBC Improv HK Winter 2026
About
This 8-class course is designed to expand your core improv skills and introduce the fundamentals of creating connected, dynamic shows. Students will learn how to link individual scenes through character, theme, or game, and how to notice and support these connections in real time. The course emphasizes discovery and experimentation, helping participants build trust in themselves and the ensemble while beginning to see the bigger picture of a performance.
Key topics include developing self-trust and ensemble awareness, supporting the group and building cohesive scenes, creating shows from a single suggestion, generating openings and ideas for scenes, recognizing and playing patterns, executing edits and transitions such as sweeps, tag-outs, and walk-ons, connecting scenes through character, theme, or premise, and exploring three longform structures: Living Room, Armando, and Harold.
This course offers a playful and supportive environment to experiment, build simple structures, and start crafting full-length, meaningful improv shows.
