Originally opened in 1928 as a grand movie palace and live performance theater, the venue was designed with ornate architectural details and quickly became a prominent destination for film screenings and live music performances. During the early to mid-20th century, it hosted performances by legendary artists and served as an important stop for major touring acts.
After decades of limited public use while serving educational purposes for Long Island University, the theater underwent a major restoration and redevelopment project. The revitalized Brooklyn Paramount reopened as a modern concert venue, blending its historic design elements with updated sound, lighting, and production facilities suited for large-scale live events.
Today, the venue has a capacity of several thousand guests and regularly hosts concerts, cultural events, and entertainment shows featuring both emerging and internationally recognized artists.
