Gurcharan Bhujhangy and Nash Aujla present’s ‘Dalbir Khanpur Bhujhangy Tribute Concert‘ at Walsall FC (Jimmy Walker Suite) on Sat 7th March 2026, 6pm till 1am.
Dalbir Khanpur Bhujhangy, great musician, song writer and singer from the legendary UK band Bhujhangy Group, one of the first Bhangra groups in the UK, Smethwick, Birmingham, they performed at shows and weddings across the country and set the foundations for the expansion of The UK Bhangra scene. Dalbir Khanpur Bhujhangy sadly passed away due to heart attack on friday 28-11-2008 while at work, he was only 59 years old. He has gone but his contribution of 55 years to the World Bhangra Music will always live on. We have arranged a massive tribute concert to remember him , it promises to take you through a journey of music from the origins of UK Bhangra music to the present day scene.
He started his journey in the UK in 1967 performing at family events, Gurdwara’s, Temples, factories and local community events.
Bhujhangy Group recorded they first EP album in 1971 at the Zella Recording Studios in Birmingham and released by Star Agencies which is Oriental Star Agencies in Birmingham
His first Song recorded was called Fashion Bahada Janda and many albums afterwards.
‘Sanjhi Sewa Charity’ was set up to tackle social isolation amongst the elderly, This event we are arranging will bring together the local communities and help people make new friendships which will help tackle loneliness and money raised can be used to fund more projects in the community.’
