Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre in Colorado is the kind of place that makes every other venue feel like it’s trying too hard. It’s an open-air amphitheatre carved naturally between towering red sandstone formations, so the whole thing looks like nature decided to build a concert hall and humans just added seats.
Capacity sits around 9,500. The acoustics are famously sharp because the rock walls act like giant speakers, and the views… well, they’re ridiculous in that “why do humans get to enjoy this” way. The surrounding park offers trails, geological formations, and the sort of sunrise that makes people suddenly believe in morning workouts.
Even I’ll admit the place is stunning, despite the part of me that’s annoyed a bunch of rocks are more impressive than most modern architecture.
