Established in 1910 and named after Tom Semple, a key figure in the early development of the Gaelic Athletic Association, the stadium has long been at the heart of hurling and Gaelic football in Munster.
With a capacity of over 45,000, Semple Stadium is the second-largest GAA ground in Ireland and regularly hosts major fixtures, including Munster Senior Hurling Championship matches and National League games. It is widely regarded as the spiritual home of Munster hurling, where some of the sport’s most memorable contests have taken place.
