Our Memories, Our Songs by The ROS Singers
About
Our Memories, Our Songs by The ROS Singers is a heartfelt musical journey that explores how music preserves memories of home, culture, and personal stories across time and place. Blending familiar regional folk melodies such as Lok Sui Tien and Ikan Kekek with contemporary choral works like Jake Runestad’s Let My Love Be Heard, the programme offers a rich and reflective listening experience. At its core is the world premiere of Three Aaron Lee Songs, a new choral cycle composed by ROS singer John Lee, set to the poetry of acclaimed Singaporean writer Aaron Lee, bringing together music and verse to reflect on themes of belonging and the human impulse to create beauty. The evening is further enriched by a special poetry reading and conversation with both artists, offering audiences a rare, intimate insight into their creative process, making it a moving celebration of music, memory, and artistic expression.
