Piyush Mishra (born Priyakant Sharma on 13 January 1963) is an Indian actor, singer, lyricist, playwright, musician, and screenwriter. Born in Sambhal, Mishra graduated from the National School of Drama, Delhi, in 1986. He began his career in Hindi theatre, where he became well-established as a director, actor, lyricist, and singer over the next decade. In 2002, he moved to Mumbai and earned significant recognition for his acting roles in Maqbool (2003) and Gangs of Wasseypur (2012).
