Alim Qasimov and Sashar Zarif: Mahabbat 2025

ISHQ Festival proudly presents Mahabbat (محبّت), a rare two-hour live performance that unites voice, body, and tradition in transformative dialogue. Doors open at 7:00 PM for this groundbreaking collaboration between legendary Azerbaijani Mugham vocalist Alim Qasimov and internationally acclaimed choreographer Sashar Zarif. Together with Qasimov’s Mugham Ensemble, they weave soul-stirring vocal improvisations and spiritually rooted movement to revive the ancient connection between Mugham and Sama—music and dance, devotion and longing. Developed through over two decades of creative exchange, Mahabbat blends emotional depth with physical poetry, inviting audiences into an intimate space of beauty, reflection, and reverence.
