Dakshina Festival 2024- Day 1

About Event:

Dakshina Festival 2024 is a three-day celebration of South Asian dance artists. It will take place on December 6th, 7th, and 8th at various venues in Downtown Toronto, including the Native Earth Performing Arts & AKI Studio, the Pia Bauman Theatre, and the Collective Space. The festival will kick off with the premiere of the dance film “THE CROSSOVER,” created by international artist Dr. Methil Devika. This film uniquely integrates Indian Sign Language with Mudras in an Indian classical dance performance. The festival will conclude with a captivating Yakshagana performance and various presentations from emerging South Asian artists across Canada.
