About the Event

EID Before EID!!

Eid is all about gratitude & sacrifice followed by celebration! Eid ul Adha is also called the Feast of the Sacrifice, The Greater Eid or Baqr Eid. It is the second of the religious festivals celebrated by Muslims across the globe every year. Eid al Adha is the later of the two Eid celebrations, the first being Eid –al – Fitr.

Eid Ul Adha is about celebrations with great food, elegant dressing and enjoying fun activities. Such celebrations are organized in several parts of Australia to ensure that Muslims who are away from their native land do not miss out their religious celebrations. Such festivities also help the future generation know their culture, tradition and stay connected to its roots.

Come & become a part of Eid Ul Adha celebrations on 12th & 13th September at the Auburn Centre for Community, St Stephen Church Hall & CNR Woodstock Avenue, NSW.

About Eid Al Adha

Eid Al Adha is known as the Feast of Sacrifice. The festival celebrates Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son to the God as an act of submission to Almighty’s command before the Allah himself intervenes through his angel Jibra’il and enlightens that his sacrifice has already been accepted. The meat from the surrendered animal is divided into three parts. The first part is retained by the family , the second part is distributed amongst relatives, friends & neighbors; and the remaining one third is offered to the poor. Eid all Adha festival also marks the end of Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. Muslims celebrate the festival with great fervor wishing one another well. Social gatherings are organized in several places where people come together to celebrate the festival.
