Montreux Jazz Festival Franschhoek | 27 Mar 2026
About
Montreux Jazz Festival Franschhoek (MJFSA) is more than a music festival—it’s a celebration of culture, connection, and lifestyle set against the scenic backdrop of the Franschhoek Valley. Spanning three days, this outdoor, multi-genre event marks the first time in its 60-year history that the iconic Montreux Jazz Festival is hosted on African soil, bringing its globally respected spirit of intimacy, excellence, and careful curation to a distinctly South African context. Like other international Montreux editions in cities such as Miami, Rio, Japan, and China, the Franschhoek festival launches in a deliberately intimate format, allowing it to build a strong identity while maintaining the depth and global prestige the brand is known for. The 2026 edition offers a layered, immersive experience across two stages—The Arches and the Jazz Village—connected by the walkable Montreux Mile, which activates the village and encourages exploration beyond the performances. Music will run from lunchtime to midnight on Friday and Saturday, with a relaxed “Sunday Slowdown” featuring performances throughout the Montreux Mile, creating a rich and accessible festival experience for all.
