Nizami Bandhu is a renowned Indian Sufi musical trio featuring Ustad Chand Nizami, Shadab Faridi Nizami and Sohrab Faridi Nizami. The group rose to national fame after their soulful performance in A.R. Rahman’s song Kun Faya Kun from the film Rockstar (2011), where they performed at the iconic Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah. Their popularity further grew when they appeared in Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), delivering the devotional track Aaj Rang Hai, originally written by the legendary poet Amir Khusro.
Coming from a lineage of qawwals who have been singing at revered shrines for generations, the family’s musical heritage dates back centuries. Over time, they expanded their performances beyond dargahs to weddings, private mehfils, cultural events, and films. Today, Nizami Bandhu continues to preserve and promote the legacy of traditional Sufi qawwali. The group is guided and promoted by Akshay KR Singh.
