Strangely Familiar by THE Dance Company (SG) | 22 May 2026
About
Strangely Familiar unfolds as an encounter between five dance artists and an ever-evolving presence that exists somewhere between human and machine, blurring the line between instinct and innovation. Rooted in T.H.E’s HollowBody methodology, the piece treats the body as a responsive, living medium—attuned to listening, adapting, and engaging with what remains beyond full understanding. As physical and digital realms merge within a shared, otherworldly landscape, the interaction becomes reflective, prompting questions of coexistence, healing, and our relationship with the futures we help shape. Directed and choreographed by Kuik Swee Boon, the work brings together collaborators from across Asia and beyond, and is co-commissioned by Asia+ Festival in Hong Kong and SIFA, with additional support from the William and Lena Lim Trust.
