Blue Note Celebrates International Jazz Day in Dubai 2026
About
Blue Note Records celebrates International Jazz Day in Dubai with a special performance at Dubai Opera, honouring its rich and influential jazz legacy. Widely regarded as one of the most iconic labels in jazz history, Blue Note has shaped generations of music, and this curated evening—co-presented by Dubai Opera and MacGlobal—pays tribute to its enduring catalogue. The programme is directed by Peter Long, known for his work with Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, leading a sextet featuring Sara Oschlag alongside a group of international jazz performers. In collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Abu Dhabi, the Francesco Cafiso Duo also joins the lineup, led by acclaimed saxophonist Francesco Cafiso. The repertoire spans styles from hard bop to modal jazz, paying homage to legendary artists such as John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Herbie Hancock, celebrating Blue Note’s lasting impact on both classic and contemporary jazz.
